Music
The Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte is dedicated to the training and promotion of young musicians. This is achieved by commissioning new works which enter into the repertoire of performing groups and by offering a unique environment, uniting composers and performers, as they did once in the past, to create musical works.
A composer of international recognised experience advises as to the selection of the most promising and exciting young authors, to be promoted by the Foundation which will set up a chamber ensemble, whose structure can vary according to the needs, but will always include a work of the classical repertoire.
Once the commissioned compositions are completed and the group of players formed, the works will be rehearsed during a study week at the Foundation’s centre, in the presence of the two composers and a musician selected to coordinate the workshop.
The workshop meetings will connect the young authors and players, over the composition in a format of a constructive confrontation, analysis and discussion before the first performance, which will take place in the concert hall of the Foundation. The final phase in the creation of the composition will culminate with the interpretation of the work, so involving all the musicians.
